Newent Walks and More Newent Walks These are two new 40 page full colour books featuring clear maps and detailed history notes of the area have published and are now available from local shops and attractions or call 01531 820638 to order by mail.

Maps are also available from some local churches (Redmarley and Dymock) showing walks through some of the most scenic countryside in Britain. The maps not only feature detailed routes but are also packed with local information and notes. Look out for information of walks on the what's on pages.

The Ordnance Survey map 'Explorer OL14' is produced specifically for walkers, cyclists and horse riders and shows all the public rights of way in the area. From this map it is possible to explore many of the wonderful sights in the area including May Hill, Newent Woods, Dymock Forest, Castle Hill Wood, the village of Clifford's Mesne and large sections of the Leadon Vale. It is also possible to follow sections of the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal and witness the work being carried out to reinstate it as a functional waterway within the next ten years.

Public footpaths around Newent town and the surrounding villages are currently being upgraded to tie in with future tourism plans for the area. A new site has been launched to cover the walks through the Kempley daffodils www.daffs.org.uk
