The website is undergoing radical changes to make it faster and more user interactive. There has been a lot going on behind the scenes to enable these changes to take place.

There is still a way to go but things are progressing nicely. This page will act as a sort of progress log. If you would like to make any suggestions, comments or ideas (to do with the website only), please e-mail them to [email protected]

15/16 April ...writing page selection code to enable pages from the tourist menu to be displayed.

17 April ...A few photographs and more pages added.

21 April...Photo gallery added.

Work being done on the back end to enable content management.

3 May... Two more pages added, Canals and Local Books. Work still continuing on backend.

8 May...Login and logging code working although not yet live.

11 May...text files (which drive website pages) can now be updated by the content management system

12 May...work starting on public access to enable people to submit events, etc.

17 May..Code for the public to register to use the website nearing completion.

21 May..registration code now working (not yet live). Working on content addition for public use.

23 May..Created permanent page for the permanent whats on items. Streamlining the whats on database to accept public submissions.

29 May..We're getting there! Public access almost completed, contact us form now live.

It has been a long time since a progress update has been added. Apolologies for that.
Because the website is public open acces, a lot of behind the scenes programming has to be done to deal with error handling, verification and also future website developement which is not immediately apparent.
Public access is now available and running.
